Okay,
I have now created a facebook account for the FCSH Fund Raisers!
If you have a FB account and would like to search for it, the email address is: fcshfundraisers@gmail.com
and the name is: Fcsh Fund Raisers
so yeah. if anyone doesn't have facebook yet, please get it so we can all stay up to date on events and such.
I re-activated my old facebook account for this reason, so you can search me by my email or just by my name.
If anyone needs help creating a facebook account and/or understanding it etc, just ask me. (Adolfo, I will help you out with it whenever you like)
Thanks,
PS. Once you have created an account, please add a photo so we can all see you and to make it easier to find you.
PPS. Adolfo, please look over the comment I made on your last post...about the Bi-lingual thing. Thanks!

Just an idea...
Hello all!
First off, I would like to apologize to everyone that I have not had time to post on the blog yet. I will post on the other comments tomorrow, I just wanted to share with the group an idea I had this morning...
We've been talking about starting a facebook group for the fund raisers, which I think is a very good idea but would mean that we would all have to get facebook accounts so that we could remain up to date on everything. My idea has stemmed from this. I think we need to make it easy for people to donate money, and the easier it is, the more we can receive.
My idea is to maybe set up a "paypal" system or something of the kind, where people can donate via credit card over the internet. That way donating will become accessible to a larger amount of people, not only in this country but (through facebook if all goes well) all over the world. I have a friend I can ask about how this can be done. Basically I think that if we can get enough people to donate even 1 euro, then it will really make a difference. But of course we will have to show them that we are all serious about this...
I will try and talk to my friend this week about it and then I will post what he said about ways to go about it. Tell me what you think of the idea though please.
Thanks.
Miriam Clarke

We're not dead already
Just a small update so people don't think we're already dead.
I'm slightly dissapointed with everyone, seeing around 90% of the group didn't answer to any posts, not doing it in person either but ah well...
About the Halloween party, It's long gone. I spoke to the student association a week ago and It's just not possible.
Now, what we could do= There will be a Book Sale in the school courtesy of Luis, the student Alyson talked about. We could help him out, we'd be happy if we did so. Miriam will contact him and I'll be needing at least 3 people interested and with time and we'll start organizing something.
Student association is organizing a party for November. We could, somehow, join in and help out. I bring it up while talking with the President of association but can't really recall her straight answer, did get the impression they didn't mind though. Again, need at least 3 people for this.
Me, the Huntress and Clark all think the cafeteria needs mood music. That added to us wanting to do some kind of classic party with 70's to 90's songs, made this project very obvious, think you figured it out by now. So yeah, Mood Old School Music for the Cafeteria!
So that's it, first two are easely do-able, last one might be a bit harder, need to talk with some people first.
Two more things= I've yet to do our Facebook but I think I have time tomorow after classes so I'll definitly take care of it; I also asked Trevas for the translator but quickly found out it sucks. Seeing most of us are in Translation, please after typing your post out (don't care if you do it in english first then in portuguese), do a translation afterwards. If you don't feel like it when you type it, please do it sometime soon. I'll be editing mine sometime tomorow also, hopefully.
It also applies to comments, if you don't mind. Let's try to have this fully Bi-lingual.
Thank you Very Much

Automatic Page Translater
Hi! I know that I said about writing in english, but, if our blog is to be seen by other people who are interested, it can't been in english, because some people may not understand it.
So, I decided to follow Aarons idea to put an automatic page translater, to switch to the language that people find more easy to understand our blog. But don't forget, for us it's important to train our english!

After opening the translater, you have to:
- Choose the button with the language and drag it to your browser's toolbar;
IMPORTANT: Don't forget NOT to delete the blogs site and to add the HTMT NEXT of the blogs adress!XD
I hope you find this useful!=D

Basic theory behind the Fund Raisers
Besides raising funds, the funds to raise funds have to come from somewhere. Being so, 10 to 20% of the raised funds will go to pay back for our bills. Let's see, we have Miriam do some cakes= She buys the ingredients, gives someone the bills (Someone prolly will be João, he wanted to handle the money and seemed serious about it) and that money will be returned to her with that 10 to 20% margin we get from the funds raised. The rest of the money will be stored safely with one of us or even a bank account and will be used for the next fund raising event. That way the group manages itself.
In the future, If it all goes well and we end up being an awesome fund raising group, we might even get support from leading brands such as Sagres and others which might eventually take out the need for the 10% to 20% in the bank account.
Now that should solve the monetary issues. Unless they end up being more complicated than I expect but if so, we'll find a way when the time comes.
Also, Trevas, is it possible to make the blog bi-lingual? As in, a little flag to click and pau, language change? If that's too complicated, or even impossible seeing this place is free, we should start doing the blogs in English and Portuguese.
On another note: I'll be needing everyone to post what they can do for the group, just so it'll be easier to plan the events, knowing our material and stuff. I'll be doing my list bellow. Please post yours in the form of a comment or something. Thanks
Adolfo= I have a PS2 and other systems with different games, in case we do some kind of tourny; a empty house most of the time, in case we need it for cooking or storage; a theater group that works as a democracy so, depending on the day, should be easy to get'em to do the plays we have ready, whenever needed; got a street performing group, can possibly ask'em to prepare a fire performance and/or animation for children and stuff in turn for a fee; can arrange(not mine but can ask for) for a projector; can possibly get someone to sew dresses or anything; can possibly have musicians; can possibly have drawings and sketches to help with any thematic; got a tai chi group, can ask'em to show up in case we ever do a healthy thing or whatever; can possibly arrange for spotlights.
Please post yours as a comment or something so we can keep a track of what the group itself has available.
Thank you Very Much

Setting projects
For starters, I need someone, preferably a girl, to go to meetings with me.
Objectives for now= Meet with Nova's theater group to check out if the Lisbon Players could do a second fund raising there.
Meet with the student association to deal with events inside the school and with the school's management. I thought about saying "Hi" to the school director but it's prolly easy if we go through the student association instead of meeting directly.
About dealing with the Lisbon Players, I'll do that on my own.
(There's someone else we should meet but I can't recall right now, will type it later)
Events= Taking the Lisbon Players to the Univ to preform their SOS Fund Raising play is prolly the easiest and should be the first.
The Halloween Party also sounds like a great way to start but we'll need major support from the School Directory/Student association, so we can only see into this after the meeting.
Halloween Party should definitly hold a food sale, thematic also if Miriam manages to. Would be awesome. It could also hold a Thematic "whatever" sale= Thematic books and miscelanious items.
Still on the halloween party, there's a lot of easy events we could easely do but let's wait to hear from the directory/student association.
We should focus on these for now. One is super simple and gets us to bond and be known, the other is great experience, teaching us the way the school works when it comes to events in the vicinity, not to mention the organization of those same events.
I won't be able to take care of the meetings tomorow seeing I got a doctor appointment I can't miss, but will be taking care of it on Wednesday somehow and it's gonna be incredibly awkward, cheer for me.
